Position Overview
The Criminal Intelligence Analyst will support consulting projects by conducting research, crime and intelligence analysis, and investigative data review. The analyst will work closely with consultants to produce professional analytical products used in security assessments and litigation support. This role requires strong analytical thinking, exceptional writing skills, and the ability to organize and interpret complex case material and large data sets. This position will initially be a contract role, with the opportunity for high-performing candidates to transition into a W2 position within six months.
Primary Responsibilities
- Request, organize, and analyze crime data and investigative information from multiple sources.
- Conduct crime and intelligence analysis to identify patterns, trends, and relevant insights for casework.
- Conduct research on security practices, crime trends, and industry publications relevant to assigned casework.
- Review, organize, and summarize case materials including reports, records, and evidentiary documents.
- Prepare report outlines and assist in drafting analytical products for expert witness reports and consulting deliverables.
- Correspond with internal team members, consultants, and clients regarding case progress and research findings.
- Track case timelines, deliverables, and updates using a project management system.
- Assist in preparing briefings, analytical summaries, and supporting documentation for consulting engagements.
- Identify opportunities to improve internal research and analytical processes.
- Participate in remote and in-person company meetings and professional development opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree. Major in Criminology, Intelligence Studies, Criminal Justice, Security Studies, or a related field is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience conducting intelligence analysis, crime analysis, and/or investigative research.
- Strong research and analytical writing skills with the ability to synthesize complex information.
- Excellent written and oral communication; excellent interpersonal skills.
- Highly Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced consulting environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Professional discretion when handling sensitive investigative information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Professional certification in intelligence or crime analysis (IACA, IALEIA, DHS, FBI, DOD, or similar).
- Experience working in the legal or security industry.
- Proficiency with Arc-GIS.
- Proficiency with project management platforms such as Monday.com.
- Strong proofreading and editing ability for professional reports.
