Location
Hosted on the beautiful campus of Coastal Carolina University in Conway, SC, the Summit will be held in the grand Allen Ballroom within the Edward M. Singleton Building. Concurrent sessions will be held in the Alford Ballroom and the Lib Jackson Student Union. Join us for a networking cocktail in the West Zone Suite of Brooks Stadium, home to the Chanticleer Football and Women’s Lacrosse teams.
23- Oct. Workshop
A specialized one-day Workshop before the Summit, tailored for security and risk management practitioners. This Workshop features a comprehensive table-top exercise on violence prevention, response, and recovery, along with sessions on digital risk mitigation and Clery Act compliance. Space is limited to 30 attendees.
24-25 Oct. Summit
The event is specifically designed for higher education administrators and aims to engage professionals across various sectors of student affairs—including deans of students, judicial affairs, housing, event planning, athletics—as well as those in resilience and risk services, compliance, and university police.
Spanning a day and a half, the event will delve into critical topics such as security risk mitigation, organizational resilience, and the management of large events, as well as student mental health. Through presentations, we will explore valuable insights gained from past acts of violence on college campuses, emphasizing practical approaches to emergency management and digital privacy education. Our keynote speaker, Dr. Ray Gasser will recount pivotal learnings from the tragic campus shooting at Michigan State University in 2023.
Please note, registration is capped at 140 participants to ensure an intimate and impactful experience.
